With everything in place we faced into our first game of the Junior C Championship with an away test to Cahir 2 on a very balmy Saturday ( 15/08/20) evening.
A spirited display against a strong and talented Cahir team saw us run out winners on a full time score line
Cahir 2 1-10 Arravale Rovers 5-13
Back to the training ground to ready ourselves for our midweek encounter against Aherlow 2.
We made the short journey to Lisvernane on Wednesday (26-8-2020) on what started out as a lovely evening but turned into our typical “ soft rain” by the second half.
Amid a bit of a downpour it became obvious that our ladies were not going to allow a bit of rain dampen their spirits here and we ran out winners at the foot of the Galtee mountains.
Aherlow 2. 2-3. Arravale Rovers 3-16
Our most recent encounter (29-08-20) against Templemore 2 was a home fixture for us. With all the new restrictions in place we were delighted to learn that Templemore were going to live stream this game, our supporters are so very important to us and thanks to Templemore they got the opportunity to watch the game.
The game was played at a fast tempo from the very start and a very tight half and full back line, combined with mid field and forward players who were on their A game produced a score line that didn’t entirely reflect the true nature of the game. This was a great game of fast flowing football and to give great credit where it is due, Templemore fought to the bitter end.
Arravale 5-11 Templemore. 0-3.
We return now to the training ground and await the pairings for the Semi Final stage of the competition.
We have found a grit, determination and team spirit within this wonderful group of players.... there is no doubt but Karl, James, Seanie, Donie, Annemarie, Dymphna and Pat have relished every moment ( in their various capacities) with this group and are absolutely delighted to be on this journey with them.
HON THE ROVERS !!!
