Munster Championship - Stage 1

Date & Location: 22/02/2020 Mallow GAA Complex

Match 1

Score: Tipperary 2-4 Cork 5-7

A goal from Leah Flannery in the 7th minute got Tipperary on the score board in Mallow today. 3 scores were kicked in the first half, Leah Flannerys goal which she followed with point from play in the 19th minute and just before the half time whistle Moycarkey's Ciara Shelly scored a point from play.

At Half Time of the 20min a side match our Ladies were down by 4 points Tipperary  1-2(5)  Cork 2-3(9) 

On the resumption Tipperary were quick off the mark winning a free which went wide in the 22nd minute. The next score for Tipperary was worth the wait when in the 12th minute the ball found the back of the Cork net. The 16th & 18th minutes saw us register 2 more points on the scoreboard.

Match 2

Score: Tipperary 11-5  Waterford 0-2

The Ladies 2nd and final match of the day threw in at 13:20 as the weather began to deteriorate. Conditions however did not seem to bother our Tipp Ladies as right from the start 20 seconds into the game Ardfinnan's Katie O'Connor was unlucky not to reach the back of the net. It didn't take her long to find it however as she registered the first score of the game with a goal in the 2nd minute followed by another goal in the 5th. Cahir's Leah Flannery was next to add to the scoreboard with a goal from a free in the 6th minute followed a minute later by another goal from play. The scores were registering fast and furious as Ciara O'Hora found the back of the net in the 8th minute with Ciara Shelley following suit 3 minutes later. Katie O'Connor again added to her score of the day pointing in the 13th minute bringing Tipp's tally to 6-1 at half time and Waterford 0-01.

The goals continued in he second half as Ciara O'Hora found the net shortly after the resumption of play and followed this success with 2 points, 1 from a free. Leah Flannery passed the Waterford keeper in the 12th minute from a free and Emer Dwan added 2 goals in quick succession 15 minutes into the second half. The last 2 minutes of the game saw Leah Flannery add another goal to the score board and Ciara O'Hora finished the scoring for the day with a point from play.
