August 30, 2021
Dominant Cork Over Power Tipp
Cork 5-12
Tipperary 1-7
A dominant Cork side over came Tipperary in the Munster Minor A Final on Sunday afternoon last August 29th at Mallow GAA Complex, Mallow.
Cork who went into the final as hot favourites for the tie were first on the scoreboard with a point from Leah Hallinan in the 4th minute. Cork drove on from there scoring 3-6 to no score up until 25th of the half when Sara Finnane pointed. Followed quickly by a point from Emer McCarthy. The half time score reading Cork 3-8 Tipperary 0-2.
On the restart with just 30 seconds on the clock Cork had breached the Tipp defence again with Leah Hallinan rattling home their 4th goal of the afternoon. Tipperary to their credit never gave up and for much of the second half had the majority of the possession. A goal from a converted penalty by full forward Emer McCarthy in the 38th minute lifted her side but a 5th goal by Orlaith Cahalane, her third of the afternoon, just before the second waterbreak finished off the game. There were some good points from Clara English (0-3) and a point each from Sara Finnane and Neasa Towey to wrap the scoring for Tipp
