Arravale Rovers were crowned TLGFA U21 Division 2 League champions on Saturday evening following a tightly contested battle with Cahir that finished 0-17 to 3-5 in favour of the Tipperary town side.

In a match full of skill, heart, and intensity, it was Arravale’s ability to consistently find scores that proved decisive. Despite conceding three goals, their sharpness in attack and accuracy in front of the posts ensured they emerged victorious.

Cahir made an explosive start, with Abby Noonan rattling the net inside five minutes. That goal was followed by further green flags from Katie O’Connor and substitute Niamh Costigan, giving them an edge in the goal count. However, Arravale refused to panic, methodically chipping away at the deficit through excellent points from Lily Maher, Eva Cremins, and team captain Nia Donovan.

The teams were level at the break—Arravale with nine points and Cahir with 2-3 (9)—setting the stage for a dramatic second half.

Arravale’s composure shone through after the interval. Their midfield took control, and their forwards continued to find space and convert chances. Kate Cremins and Lily Maher added crucial scores, while Donovan led by example with two fine points.

Cahir’s goal from Costigan midway through the second half threatened to tip the balance, but a flurry of Arravale points in the final ten minutes sealed the win.

While Cahir can be proud of their battling performance, it was Arravale’s consistency and discipline in attack that won the day. Scoring 17 points without registering a goal is a testament to their patience and shot selection.

This victory marks a significant milestone for the club’s underage setup and is a reflection of the hard work being done behind the scenes by players and mentors alike.
