Ardfinnan Power to Victory in Tipperary LGFA Camida Adult Division 2 Final

Ardfinnan claimed the Tipperary LGFA Camida Adult Division 2 title in style with a commanding 12-point win over a spirited Moycarkey Borris side in a thrilling final on Sunday.

The match got off to a blistering start, with Ardfinnan’s Niamh O’Farrell rattling the net in under 30 seconds. Moycarkey Borris responded through points from Emma O'Sullivan and Aoife Shelly, who was a standout performer with 1-4 to her name. Shelly’s goal in the 8th minute gave Moycarkey Borris a brief lead, but Ardfinnan kept in touch with scores from Cathy Ryan and Aoibhin Harris.

The momentum swung back and forth in the first half, with Emma O’Sullivan netting Moycarkey’s second goal. However, Ardfinnan finished the half stronger, with Laura Dillon converting a penalty and then striking again from play to leave her side ahead 3-5 to 2-5 at the break.

Ardfinnan’s attacking strength came to the fore in the second half. Aoibhin Harris struck twice more to complete her brace, while Dillon and Clara O’Brien kept the scoreboard ticking. Dillon in particular was superb, finishing with 2-4, and proving to be a constant thorn in the Moycarkey defence.

Despite the efforts of Alisha Kearney, who notched three second-half points for Moycarkey, and a late point surge, they couldn't claw back Ardfinnan’s lead. Ardfinnan closed the game with a series of unanswered points, cementing their win and lifting the Division 2 trophy on a final scoreline of 5-12 to 2-9.
