Junior A Championship Semi-Finals Promise Thrilling Clashes
The Tipperary Ladies Football Junior A Championship has reached its knockout stage, with the semi-finals now set following an exciting group campaign that produced high-scoring contests and some standout performances.
Holycross Ballycahill topped the group table, finishing unbeaten with three wins and one draw. Their firepower up front, which delivered a tally of 102 points across four games, and their ability to grind out results, including a hard-fought draw with St Patrick’s, sees them head into the semi-finals as the form team. They will now face Sliabh na mBan, who finished fourth but showed plenty of resilience earlier in the campaign.
The second semi-final will see Arravale Rovers take on St Patrick’s, two sides who battled hard throughout the group. Arravale impressed with strong wins against St Patrick’s and Slieve Felim Rapparees, while St Patrick’s themselves claimed two victories and pushed Holycross to a draw, underlining their ability to compete with the best.
Despite some strong performances, Slieve Felim Rapparees bowed out without a win, while Sliabh na mBan, though inconsistent, have shown enough grit to know they cannot be underestimated in the knockouts.
