Coaching Workshops

1) Ready, Steady, Coach (Online)

Date: 6th February
Format: Online
Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes
Cost: €10 per person

A volunteer recruitment coaching programme aimed at providing support and assistance to new volunteers interested in helping with coaching or running a team within their club.

2) How to Coach Your Goalkeeper

A practical workshop designed to supply coaches with the knowledge and coaching techniques needed to deliver focused and beneficial goalkeeper training.

Workshop 1 (Ages 8–12)

  • Date: 7th April

  • Duration: 1.5 hours

  • Cost: €15 per person

Workshop 2 (Ages 14+)

  • Date: 14th April

  • Duration: 3 hours

  • Cost: €20 per person

3) Key2Coaching Workshop

This workshop helps coaches gain a better understanding of how to plan, organise, deliver, and evaluate a typical training session.

Workshop 1 (Ages 8–12)

  • Date: 3rd March

  • Duration: 2 hours

  • Cost: €20 per person

Workshop 2 (Ages 14+)

  • Date: 5th March

  • Duration: 2 hours

  • Cost: €20 per person

4) Coach the Tackle Workshop

Date: 24th March
Duration: 2 hours
Audience: All active club coaches

This workshop looks at the skill of tackling and activities that coaches can implement in training sessions to promote good tackling technique.

5) Coaching Teenage Girls in Sport Workshop

Date: 24th February
Duration: 3 hours
Cost: €20 per participant
Audience: Coaches of girls aged 12–17

Provides coaches with the knowledge and coaching techniques needed to deliver focused and beneficial training specific to the teenage age grade.

6) Nursery Course

Date: 9th April
Duration: 2 hours
Cost: €15 per participant
Audience: Coaches working with 4–6 year olds

Referee Courses

1) Go Games Referee Course (Face-to-Face)

Date: 6th March
Minimum age: 15 years+
Duration: 3 hours
Cost: €10 per participant

On completion, participants will be able to referee up to U12 Go Games.

2) Youth Referee Course

Date: 13th February
Minimum age: 17 years+
Format: Blended (online + in-person)

Course includes:

  • 2 online modules (2 hours each)

  • 1 in-person day (6 hours)

  • Online rules assessment

Qualification: Can referee up to and including U16 games.

The Youth Referee Course is designed to recruit and train new referees with a specific emphasis on females. On completion, referees will be qualified to referee competitive juvenile club football (U12–U16, depending on the age of the referee).

3) Full Referee Course (In-Person)

Date: 26th January
Minimum age: 18 years+
Cost: €15 per participant

Course includes:

  • 1 x 6-hour contact day

  • 5 x online self-led modules

  • Online rules test

This course focuses on training new referees with a focus on female representation. On completion, participants will be qualified to referee competitive club football at adult and juvenile level.

4) Annual Referee Refresher Course

Date: To be confirmed
Minimum age: 18 years+
Duration: 2 hours (may be online)
Cost: €10 per participant
Assessment: Online rules assessment

Eligibility: Participants must have completed the LGFA Grab Your Whistle Youth course or an adult course, or have refereed Gaelic games for a minimum of 5 years.
