Tipperary Minors delivered a powerful first-half performance that set the foundation for victory in Round 3 of the MLGFA Minor Championship, overcoming a determined Limerick side who mounted a spirited second-half comeback. Tipp’s early goal burst, inspired by the exceptional Grace Hogan, ensured they held on for a five-point win.

First Half: Tipp Dominate as Hogan Runs Riot

Tipp opened brightly with early chances for Chloe O’Neill before Grace Hogan struck the first goal of the afternoon at eight minutes. Limerick struggled to gain a foothold, registering several wides, while Tipp kept increasing the pressure.

Hogan added her second goal at 21:30, and Tipp produced a devastating three-goal spell just before the interval:

• Chloe O’Neill at 27:24

• Aoibhinn Casey at 27:50

• Hogan completing her hat-trick at 28:50

Limerick’s only first-half score came from Molly O’Mahony, leaving them trailing significantly at the break.

Second Half: Limerick Fight Back but Tipp Stay in Control

Limerick began the second half with renewed intent, though wides from Beehan and Murphy slowed their progress. Tipp rotated their squad effectively, and Chloe O’Neill struck her second goal at 11:16 to restore full control.

Limerick rallied strongly in the final quarter, registering:

• A point from Summer Beehan

• A goal around the 20-minute mark

• Two frees from Emma Robertson

• A point from play at 36:26

• A goal at 36:58

• A final major from Zoe Kilbridge at 40:54

Their determined late surge brought them to 3–5, but Tipp’s first-half dominance kept them comfortably ahead.
