u-16 'D' Champions

Full Time score: Lattin-Cullen/Emly 1-12  Slieve Felim Raparees 2-3

On Sunday May 5th in Sean Treacy Park Tipperary, our u-16 Lattin Cullen/Emly ladies football team gave us an exceptional display of football skill in an unbelievable County Final battle with Slieve Felim.

With a LCE goal in the first half by Kate Power this certainly set the pace of the game later on. Slieve Felim fought back with a goal also before half time to almost even the gap however some outstanding points from Caitlin Byrnes, Mai Heffernan, Leah Carew and Jodie Slattery saw us being strong contenders in the first half. Our sending off for 10 minutes of one star player didn’t get us down and we came out fighting strong in the 2nd half.

The crowd were not to be disappointed for the final 30 minutes with LCE accumulating some more outstanding points with excellent team passing and commitment from our girls. Shannon Lonergan, Caitlin Byrnes and Leah Carew dominated the 2nd half with outstanding scores.

Thanks to our strong trojan full/half back line of Aileen O Farrell, Aoife Lee, Emma Kiely, Mary Leahy, Michelle Doherty and Keah Morrissey it was not to be Slieve Felim's day on the score board as little or nothing got through that wall of defence. LCE took home the cup with a score line of 1-12 to 2-3 and Leah Carew winning player of the match.

A just reward for the girls after a long year.
