St. Patrick's Club Notes
July 18, 2019
Our under 11 girls played their second game of the Summer League on Tuesday evening in Cloneen. Holycross Lgfa were their opponents in this round. Played in perfect conditions both teams treated us to a very exciting game of football with the minimum separating them at the end.
Holycross started brightly and took control with an early goal. Our girls took a while to settle but soon found their rhythm and netted some great goals. At half time St. Patrick's led 3-1 to 2-1.
The second half was a ding-dong battle with the lead swopping over and back several times. Holycross netted with a few minutes remaining to put them 2 points ahead. Our girls pulled it back to 1 point in the dying minutes but ran out of time to get the equaliser. Final score Holycross 6-2, St Patrick's 5-4. Well done to both teams on a thrilling game of football, played in a very sporting manner by all involved.

Straight after our under 17 team took to the field against Silvermines Ladies Gaelic Football in their second round Tipperary Ladies Football under 17 summer league. Silvermines had only 11 players, so we matched them and run in and out players throughout the game. St. Patrick’s dominated the first quarter with well taken goals by Eabha Hogan & Eimear Boland but Silvermines finished the first half strongly with two goals. Half time score: St. Patrick’s 4.2 Silvermines 2.3.
The second half was very evenly balanced and competitive by both teams, however St. Patrick’s held on to their first half lead and won the game on a full time score: St. Patrick’s 6.6 Silvermines 3.7. Our thanks to the Silvermines team and manager Anthony Moroney who made the long trip down to Anner Park Cloneen and for a very sporting game.
