St Patick's Junior A Semi-Final Match Report
September 21, 2019
Our junior ladies headed to New Inn this evening to play Galtee Rovers St Pecaun Ladies Football Club in the @Tipperary Ladies Junior A championship semi final. We found it hard to get into the game, with Galtee very strong on the ball and making powerful runs through the middle but a well taken goal by Éabha Hogan, got us on the scoreboard and lifted the performance rate by the players. Sadhbh Morrissey was kept busy in the goals and pulled off some great saves and our defenders worked trojanly to keep us in the game in the first half. Half time score: St. Patrick’s 2.2 Galtee Rovers 3.5.
Playing against the wind in the second half, it was Galtee that powered on and were ruthless in their attacking and finishing. St. Patrick’s found it hard to keep pace but kept going to the final whistle. Final score: St. Patrick’s 2.6 Galtee Rovers 6.16. Whilst today, was not our day and where we came up against a stronger team, all the St. Pats girls can hold their heads high and know that they are well able to compete at the Junior A level. With most of the team under 20 years old, this year was a huge step up and the girls will have learnt a lot about the level they need to reach to drive them on for next year!

The club and in particular the Junior Ladies team would like to thank most especially team manager Michael Moroney for his unwavering commitment, work and efforts for the past three years with the team. To have delivered two county titles in three years with the team is no mean feat and as a club we can’t thank you enough
