Mullinahone are the 2021 Camida Junior A Champions after a dominant display over Moycarkey/Borris on Saturday November 6th last in Sean Treacy Park, Tipperary.
Mullinahone dominated the game throughout apart from a brief window in the final quarter where Moycarkey managed to get within eight points of them.
The game was barely seconds old when Lorraine O’Shea goaled and by the first water break Mullinahone were 3-4 to Moycarkey Borris’1-1. The O’Shea sisters doing most of the damage in that opening seventeen minutes scoring 2-4 between and Nicole Shelly adding a goal of her own. Moycarkey got 1-1 back through Catriona Walsh (1-0) and a (0-1) from Emma O’Sullivan.
When play resumed Mullinahone continued in their scoring ways adding a further (0-3) while holding Moycarkey scoreless for the remainder of the half. The half time score reading Mullinahone 3-7 Moycarkey Borris 1-1.
Mullinahone opened the second half with another from Aoibhe Shea and just six minutes into the half Claire Egan had breached Moycarkeys defence to get in for Mullinahone’s fourth goal of the game to lead by 4-9 to Moycarkeys 1-1.
It wasn’t until the 41st minute of the second half that Moycarkey finally began to find their way back into this game first;y with (0-1) eachg from Alisha Kearney and Catriona Walsh. This was quickly followed by a goal from Amy Callinan who got on the end of a quickly taken Catriona Walsh free. Walsh added another point before the second water break to leave the score at Mullinahone 4-9 Moycarkey Borris 2-4. As the game entered the final ten minutes of ordinary team Mullinahones Chloe Gunn pointed by was quickly negated by a point from Kate Sheridan at the opposite end. Eleven points down and with just four minutes left on the Moycarkey battled on and were rewarded with a third goal from a penalty by Emma O’Sullivan. Eight points just separated the sides but a goal and point from Aoibhe O’Shea killed off the game to seal the victory for Mullinahone,
