Dramatic Finish Sees Sars As C Champs

A dramatic final quarter saw Thurles Sarsfields secure the Specsavers U16 C Championship Cup on Sunday evening last October 3rd as they defeated Mullinahone in Littleton.

The final 15 minutes after the second waterbreak, saw Sarsfields step up a gear. The sides were all square with Sarsfields 5-5 to Mullinahone’s 3-11 at the second water break but went on scoring spree after the resumption of play to out-score their opponents by 4-4 to 1-0 to secure the title and the game.

There had been nothing between the sides throughout with Mullinahone leading at half time  on a scoreline of 2-9 to Sarsfields 4-2. However, in the final quarter hour Sarsfields turned the game on its head to run out convincing winners.
