Aherlow & Mullinahone progress to Munster Club Finals

Two of our four Tipperary teams competing in the Munster Club Championship Semi-Final weekend have progressed safely through to the final stages. Aherlow LGFA make history today as they beat Southern Gaels to reach a Senior Munster Club Final for the first time in their Clubs History. Having lead from the start Aherlow went in at half time 4 points the better leading 0-5 to 0-1. Full time score Aherlow 0-9 Southern Gaels 0-6 books them a place in the final against either Waterford's Ballymacarberry or Cork's Shane Ronayne's Mourne Abbey in two weeks time Dec 12th. 

Mullinahone were in action in Brinny Co Cork on Saturday as they faced Cork's Castlehaven at 12.30pm.  Paul Kelly's side hit the ground running and at the first water break the score was 1-02 to 0-2 in Mullinahone's favour. Two points a piece were added to the score board and halftime saw Mullinahone a goal in front Mullinahone 1-04 Castlehaven 0-4. The Cork side come out strong and found the back of the net in the third quarter taking the lead for the first time in the game as the referee blew for the final water break Mullinahone were down by a point with Castlehaven having clocked 1-05 on the scoreboard.  The Tipp side responded well and replied with a goal and 2 points of their own which was enough to book them a place in the final with a 2 point margain. Full time score Mullinahone 2-06 to Castlehaven 1-07.  



Our Intermediate County Champions Galtee Rovers St Pecaun's took on Castleisland Desmonds in Castlemaine on Saturday morning throwing in at 12pm. An early goal by Desmonds in the opening minutes saw the Kerry take a 4 point lead within the first 5 minutes. At half time the Tipp side had yet to make an impression on the scoreboard and trailed Desmonds by 1-05. Another Kerry goal saw the teams 2-8 to no score at the second half water break. Galtee's Roisin Finnan found the back off the net in the final quarter followed by a point from Edith Carroll  leaving the final whistle score Castleisland Desmonds 3-12 Galtee Rovers St Pecaun's 1-1


Clonmel Commercials were first out in Sundays Double Header in Fitzgerald's Stadium taking on Kerry County Champions Rathmore. Commercials went in at half time a goal and two points behind, Rathmore 2-04 Clonmel Commercials 1-02. The second half saw Rathmore find the back of the net on two more occasions, full time score Rathmore 3-05 Clonmel Commercials 1-06
